The organisation and website I explored is Early Childhood Australia http://www.earlychildhoodaustralia.org.au/

Early Childhood Australia publishes scholarly evidence based articles in its journal. Some of its recent research publications are as follows;

• Enhancing social-emotional development through evidence-based resources.
• Supporting parents' informed early childhood education and care choices through playgroups.

From the website, I learned that separation anxiety is quite common in children and it starts between the age of 6-8 months up until 2 and a half- 4 years of age. It could stem from previous painful separation experiences in the early years which may now cause the child to cling to what is safe and familiar. Settling into a new environment such as day care or preschool could be a trigger for some children because of the loud environment and unfamiliar faces while for others it is a stimulating and positive environment that encourages them to interact with other children.

A noteworthy information I got from the website is that the foundation of the organisation is in policy development on early childhood development as well as in children's rights advocacy. The organisation also fights strongly for inclusiveness of all children because it is their rights. Lastly the organisation supports other campaigns that are pursing similar advocacy goals thereby expanding their audience.
