Final Blog Assignment

This course has informed me greatly about the international early childhood field and the three consequences of learning about the international early childhood field are as follows;
1. I am aware of the trends and issues that concern children locally and internationally. Knowing now that some of these issues are usually hidden by those affected, I realise that I have to look beyond the surface when interacting with children and their families in order to connect with them.

2. I have learned of resources in the form of organisations that advocate for the rights of children. The fight for children should not be done by one or a few organisations but by the world. As more attention is brought to these organisations and by spreading the information and the works done by these organisations, more people would get inspired to start things locally for their community as well. For those that cannot do that, they are welcome to offer their support financially.

3. I have clarity on the importance of personal and professional development as an educator. This is important because as ever changing the early childhood education field is, it is necessary to keep up with it in order to be a high-quality and effective educator.

One goal for the field related to international awareness of issues and trends and the spirit of collegial relations is that all stakeholders, policy makers, educators and related professional get along to resolve these issues and trends experienced by children and families. The focus should be on the children and not on political alliances or personal motives. I hope for better collaborations amongst countries where success has been recorded and those in need of help to execute their strategies.
