Global Fund for Children is an organisation that forms partnerships with small, local grass-root organisations specifically in their early stages. They help fund and provide other resources that can help them thrive and be independent in their work with children. As a professional in the early childhood field, it is necessary to form partnerships with families and other stakeholders in the early childhood education field in order to serve families and their children better. With mutual respect and trust, parents and teachers can collaborate efficiently.
In a newsletter published on the website, there are several stories on family separation. Not all were caused forcefully as in the case of the recent events happening in the US but rather they were done voluntarily due to various reasons. Such as the search of greener pastures, crime related or gender based violence, discrimination or as a result of abuse. This has forced many young people to live their realities in very harsh ways.
Just as the economists believe that by investing in early childhood education, they would have a return of investments when the children become academically and economically fulfilled adults. The neuroscientists believe that children need to live in safe and thriving environments in order to perform optimally and enjoy a healthy development. Global Funds for Children is a major investor in the welfare of children as they find and fund organisations that are working locally to impact the lives of children. Global Fund for Children also particularly invests in women and girl education because they know that they would have good returns on them. This is because they are the demographics that can uplift their families and communities from severe state of poverty.
I find that the trends and issues in early childhood is something we should all be mindful of especially in our locality because all it takes is one person to stand up against them and advocate for the children. Also every individual cannot start an initiative to fight for a cause and therefore we should strive to support and form partnerships with existing organisations when needed.
This is where I share my thoughts and opinions. It is a place for positivity and empowerment

Hi, Adiele! What are some of the local grass-root organizations that Global Fund for Children partner with? Do they work with organizations across the nation, only in certain states, globally, etc?

Adiele,
ReplyDeleteGlobal Funds for Children transform lives by investing in girl’s education from Grassroots Organizations.
According to the World Bank, quality education helps girls find their voice and “speak and be listened to.” Educating vulnerable girls in marginalized communities and rural areas also leads to a reduction in child marriage, teen pregnancy, at-risk behaviors, female genital cutting, and violence against women and girls.

Global Funds for Children sounds like a great organization that brings unity amongst the women. Hopefully, this organization will impact the women and bring about a change in the communities and we will be able to see a change in the upcoming youth.
