Getting Ready- Expanding Horizons and Expanding Resources

The podcasts I listened to were The Early Education Show and The Preschool Show. The Early Education Show has 3 contributors that are professionals and advocates of early childhood education based in Australia. Their content varies on topics of children's rights, advocacy, government and policy to mention a few. An intriguing episode was on being an agent of change, which was an audio recording of Realising the Potential Conference that was held in Victoria, Australia.
The Preschool Podcast had an episode on Reading- Setting Children up for Success. The contributor spoke about how parents need to allow children to make mistakes because that is how they learn. She advices that for young children, they can listen to nursery rhymes which helps them to put together words, sentences and rhythm.

The website I chose to look into is the Global Fund for Children. This is a non profit organisation that is set up to invest in grass root initiatives working for the good of children. The organisation acts as a support by providing funds to carry out projects and also acts as a facilitator to networking opportunities between local initiatives and their counterparts all over the world. I like this organisation because it is not limited to a certain geographical location and as a non profit organisation, is run by donations given by the public.

  1. Hi, Adiele! When listening to the Australian podcast, did you notice any differences or similarities to how education is approached between Australia and America, or Australia and Nigeria?
